What would or could you do if you had no arms or legs? A man facing this very predicament found hope and purpose in faith against these seemingly insurmountable odds and now preaches the gospel worldwide.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
Will there be celebrities in heaven? If so, they will likely be celebrities of a kind far different than those on earth, ones with incredible stories that speak to the glory of God. After all, the Bible tells us that the job of angels called Seraphim in heaven is to praise God continuously.
Heavenly celebrities might be something like one incredible Australian man who exemplifies what is possible with God.
Nick Vujicic is a living testament to the power of faith and an example of someone who refuses to accept the word ‘can’t.’
“‘If you can?’ said Jesus. ‘Everything is possible for one who believes.'”
– Mark 9:23
Nick Vujicic was born without any arms or legs. There was no medical explanation for his condition, WLWT reports.
At the tender age of just 10 years old, Nick says he chose to give up on life and attempted suicide.
“I didn’t believe I’d get a job or get married,” Nick said. “[I] thought even if I got married – I can’t even hold my wife’s hand.”
But everything changed when Nick found faith in God. He says that God helped them overcome the obstacles he faced.
Nick became a living miracle. He began living his life as if he had no restrictions, going snow skiing and waterskiing. He was able to participate in activities that might seem impossible to someone without upper or lower extremities, such as swimming, fishing, and golfing.
“You are the God who works wonders; you have made known your might among the peoples.”
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
– 2 Corinthians 5:17
In addition to living a life without limits, Nick found a new purpose in spreading the gospel and giving hope to others. What better spokesperson for the gospel than someone who is a living example of God’s glory in miracles?
Nick has spread his amazing story in the gospel to over seventy-four countries, in which he also met with 21 presidents and 10 government leaders.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
– Jeremiah 29:11
